Having trouble jump-starting your scholarship search? If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, you may have the scholarship blues.
- Do not know how to begin your search.
- You are in your second semester as a high school senior and you have not registered on any scholarship search engines.
- When asked by your parents if you are applying for scholarships, your response is “I will get around to it” or “I’m working on it”.
- Experiencing feelings of insecurity. “Am I’m really good enough to apply for this scholarship?
- Feeling anxious about having to write an essay or experiencing writer’s block.
- Telling yourself you will begin your search after football, volleyball, marching band, seasons are over.
- Laziness.

Register on a scholarship search engine such as Fastweb, Scholarships.com or Appily.com

- Set aside at least 30 minutes a day to research scholarships.
- Focus on completing one scholarship application at a time. Scholarship organizations will ask for similar information.
- Follow your favorite scholarship search engines on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
- If you don’t like to write, research no essay scholarships.
- Keep your scholarship search engine profiles updated with accurate information.
- Apply for scholarships you feel you have a 90% chance of obtaining.
