I first introduced you to Darion Wiggs in a previous post entitled Debt Free Student. My husband and I have been involved with him as a mentee and coach since his junior year of high school. We had the opportunity to attend his graduation from the University of Illinois, Urbana in May where he received his BS in Accountancy. While at the University he also had the opportunity to study abroad in Spain.
The last two summers he had internships with Ernst & Young in Chicago. In the fall of 2019 he will pursue his Masters in Accounting Science with a concentration in Real Estate at the University of Illinois on a full scholarship. The program will take him about a year to complete and from there he will return for full-time employment with Ernst & Young. It is so important to make sure you are prepared for internships by your junior year of college. Most internships require a minimum 3.0 GPA.
I am so proud of what he has accomplished and know that he has a bright future ahead of him. He is living proof that you can go to college and graduate school debt free. Way to go Darion!
