Not all search engines are alike. There are so many scholarship search engines on the web, how do you find out which ones are right for you? There are search engines that cater to elementary students, high school students, undergrads and graduate students. One of the biggest misconceptions about the scholarship search is that students should wait until their senior year of high school to start looking for scholarships. The truth is, scholarships are available to students in elementary and middle schools. Can you imagine the results you would get by registering with a search engine in 6th or 7th grade?
Here are a few tips to help you get the best scholarship search engine results:
- Take your time and answer all questions that relate to your goals, interests and aims, particularly the extracurricular activities questions.
- Register on a minimum of 3 search engines.
- Update your information as your situation changes. When your grades and test scores change you need to keep your profile updated with the latest information.
- For specific scholarships unique to you do a “Google” or “Twitter” search.
- Never pay money to utilize a scholarship data base.
